Matawan Legion team is carrying momentum

      The Matawan American Legion baseball team is 2-2-1 thus far this summer representing Post 23 in Keyport. The Legion entry is essentially the Matawan High School baseball team minus the seniors who graduated. Huskies coach John Kaye is at the helm.

Local stars excel at team tennis competition
      American Tennis League (ATL) held its WTT XTeamTennis Court Clash tournament recently at the Bey Lea Tennis Complex in Toms River. This tournament was open to all New Jersey residents, but it was a group of local players who dominated play throughout.

Bay fishing seems a bit more reliable of late
      Well, the first Hi-Mar kids' trip is in the books for this year.Hi-Mar's first group was from Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs, led by CO Wayne Tomelson. It didn't seem to matter what kind of fish they caught, every one reeled in brought a big grin to the face of each kid.
