Musicians to play acoustic show for autism July 27 HOLMDEL - Art for Autism will present an acoustic concert of three of the bands featured on the Art for Autism CD, a compilation of Jersey bands that donated their time and music to help raise awareness and funds for adults with autism. The concert will take place at the Barnes & Noble store on Route 35 in Holmdel, July 27 at 8 p.m. Started by Amanda Zadroga, of East Brunswick, for her senior project at Rutgers University, Art for Autism's goal is to improve services for adults with autism and to raise awareness of the life span problems that adults with autism and their families face. Zadroga has two cousins who have autism and a little brother who is developmentally delayed, Zadroga said on her Web page. She decided to use her great interest and passion for music, something that everyone appreciates, to help raise awareness of this project. Even though she has graduated from Rutgers, Zadroga says she plans to continue with the project for as long as it takes to sell all the CDs. She's sold about 500 out of the 1,000 that she produced and hopes to produce an Art for Autism II that will include musicians from more than just New Jersey to facilitate change for the nation in the future. Artists performing at Barnes & Noble will be The Groucho Marxists featuring Chris Pierce, Brian Schwinn, Austin Faxon and Gary Zampini; Mike Kovacs; and Vic Fraternale, formerly of Head Traffic. CDs will be available at the show or online at artforautism.net. They can also be purchased at Barnes & Noble stores in Holmdel, Freehold, East Brunswick, North Brunswick and Princeton as well as Jack's Music Shoppe in Red Bank, Princeton Record Exchange, Vintage Vinyl in the Fords section of Woodbridge; and Tunes in Hoboken. - Amy Rosen
