A gallery 'Off the Hook'
 | | "Follow the Sun" by Jennie A. Meares |
| Four local artists have joined forces for a collaborative exhibit that uses its seashore gallery space as a jumping-off point.
"Just Off the Hook!" features works by Vicky Culver, photo collagist, Howell, and photographers Robert Grunke, Peter Lopez and Jennie A. Meares, all Matawan,
The exhibit at the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, down the road from Sandy Hook, will run through Aug. 4 at the former life saving station, located at 128 Ocean Ave.
Robert Grunke's cityscape series captures everyday places and people, each taken at a special moment in time and showing a small slice of city life.
Peter Lopez displays photos of Sandy Hook, as well as architectural and historical artifacts, sometimes in macro scale.
Known for her love of sun, sand and water, Jennie A. Meares shows her seascapes along with several of her trademark reflections.
Vicky Culver's photo collages delight and challenge the eye with meticulously cut and pieced images, which range from lovely to unusual to powerful.
