Commuter calls for north merge lanes on parkway

I travel to Edison from Middletown about five times a week. Generally finding Route 35 the easier way for me to go, I get into the lane for the parkway entrance at 117. Unfortunately, so does all the traffic from Route 35.

Here is my question: why is this not an alternate merge? Can anyone out there answer this? Why are travelers from Route 35 punished when trying to enter from this major road, having to yield to Route 36 traffic? Especially in the summer - it is dangerous and backs traffic up because one literally has to come to a stop not just a yield. Traffic gets backed up all the way to another dangerous curve on Route 35 north. It is also annoying and completely unnecessary when an alternate merge lane would solve the problem so easily.

Can anyone help? I am sure other travelers would appreciate it also.

Please consider making 117 north merge lanes.
