Sports Shorts The Lincroft Knights Travel Baseball Club will hold tryouts for its competitive baseball teams for the fall season on Sunday, July 29, at 4 p.m. at the Lincroft Little League Complex fields 5 and 6. All games will be played on Saturdays. The age groups are: 8U/9U born after April 30, 1998; 9U/10U born after April 30, 1997; 10U/11U born after April 30, 1996 (46/60); 10U/11U born after April 30, 1996 (50/70); and 11U/12U born after April 30, 1995. The team will be playing three regular season games at the Laurence Harbor Little League Complex, at the senior field. Although this is the Brawlers' first season playing in Laurence Harbor, it is not their first season. Last season, their first, the Brawlers went undefeated and went on to win the league championship. This year they look to do the same, as they open the season at home against the much improved Lykens (Pa.) Thunder at 1 p.m. July 28. Tickets for this game and the rest of the Brawler games are free of charge; however, they encourage fans to bring canned foods and nonperishables for the less fortunate.
