Daniel M. Aurigemma has received an Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) college scholarship offer to attend a selected host college or university. Cadets are selected based on comprehensive tests, high school scholastic achievement, and extracurricular activities. The estimated value of the scholarship depends on the student's choice of school and type of scholarship offered. Upon graduation from college and completion of the ROTC program, the cadet will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force. A 2007 graduate of Raritan High School, Hazlet, he is the son of Mildred A. and Joey D. Aurigemma of Hazlet.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher D. Ryan has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, he studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. Airmen that complete basic training also earn credit toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. A 1999 graduate of Keyport High School, he is the son of Margaret and William Venancio of Keyport.

Petty Officer 1st Class (E-6) Jerry Rose has been promoted to his current rank. He is stationed at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, with his wife and family, where he monitors communications. He also received the Navy Achievement Medal for outstanding performance on the submarine USS Tennessee. He is the son of Donna Rose, and grandson of Jean Petrick, both Union Beach. He is also the son of Harry Rose, Pleasanthill, Calif.

Army Pvt. Jeffrey Benfer has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, he studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises. A 2005 graduate of the Marine Academy of Science and Technology, Sandy Hook, he is the son of Theresa Benfer of Hazlet.
