Middletown VFW annual picnic Aug. 19 Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post No. 2179, and its Ladies Auxiliary, 1 Veterans Lane, Port Monmouth section of Middletown, will host its annual picnic Aug. 19 from noon-6 p.m. The event features free beer and soda, music, raffles and children's games. Foods will include chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, clams and sausage. Proceeds benefit the VFW's work of assisting veterans and families.
