John Preis Nitchie

Mr. Nitchie, 37, of Keyport, died Aug. 14, 2007, at home. Born in Summit, he had resided in Sarasota, Fla., and Middletown before moving to Keyport two years ago. Mr. Nitchie was an aircraft mechanic at Lakehurst Naval Air Station. He is survived by his mother and her husband, Edie and Paul Skerl of Ocean, and his maternal grandmother, Irmgard Preis of Bridgewater. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Gladys B. Guillaudeu

Mrs. Guillaudeu, 92, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Aug. 25, 2007, at home. Born in Colts Neck, she resided in Holmdel prior to relocating to Belford 73 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Middletown Reformed Church, and a former member of the church choir. She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd O. Guillaudeu Sr. in 1980. She is survived by a son, Floyd O. Guillaudeu Jr. of Middletown. Visitation will be Aug. 29 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be Aug. 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a service at 10:30 a.m. at Middletown Reformed Church. Burial will follow at Shoreland Memorial Park, Hazlet.

Margaret M. Pryor

Miss Pryor, 91, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, died Aug. 22, 2007, at Sunrise Assisted Living, Lincroft. Born in Bradley Beach, she resided in Avon, Bradley Beach, and Red Bank prior to relocating to Lincroft 50 years ago. She was an advertising researcher at Readers Digest, New York City, for more than 25 years. Prior to that, she was employed at Webb and Knapp, New York City, and T. Frank Applebee, Asbury Park. She enjoyed golf, skiing, and art. She was predeceased by three brothers, John A. Pryor Jr., Harold V. Pryor and Richard Pryor. She is survived by four nieces; and three cousins. A funeral liturgy will be Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Arrangements are by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Raphael T. Celestin

Mr. Celestin, 70, of Matawan, died Aug. 8, 2007, at home. Born in Haiti, he came to the United States in 1960 and resided in Orange, Keyport, and Middletown prior to relocating to Matawan two years ago. He was an electrical engineer and drill press operator at Electrical Products Industry Local No. 3, Irvington, for 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Irene Celestin; three daughters, Lau raine Celestin, Marina Celestin and Marie Severs; a son, Ralph Celestin; eight sisters; and four grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment was at Fair View Ceme tery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Carmela A. Bucco Mocci

Mrs. Mocci, 50, of Keyport, died Aug. 20, 2007, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Red Bank, she was a lifelong resident of Keyport. Mrs. Mocci was a hairdresser. She was predeceased by her father, Russell Bucco. She is survived by her husband, John Mocci; her mother, Carmela Bucco of Aberdeen; a daughter, Nicole Mocci of Keyport; two sisters, Mary Koehler of Aberdeen and Angela Marvel of Manalapan; two brothers, Rocky Bucco and Russell Bucco, both of Aberdeen; two nieces; and four nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment at St.Joseph's Cemetery, both Keyport. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Andrew Paul Pennino

Mr. Pennino, 41, of Palm Springs, Calif., died Aug. 20, 2007, at Desert Regional Medical Center, Palm Springs, from complications due to surgery. Born in Denville, he had resided in Morris Township for 18 years and in Arlington, Va., for 12 years before relocating to California three year ago. Mr. Pennino was a manager at MCI Telecommunications, Washington, D.C., for two years. He is survived by his parents, Blanche and Thomas Pennino of Holmdel; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Andrew Daecher of San Francisco, and Leigh and Dary Sulich of Santa Fe, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews. Mary-Frances H. Kempson

Mrs. Kempson, 84, of Bridgewater, Vt., died Aug. 24, 2007, in Hanover, N.H. Born in Jersey City, she was a lifelong resident of Middletown Township, and relocating to Bridgewater in 2003. She served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She enjoyed reading, sewing and history. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth G. Kempson. She is survived by four children, Kenneth of Clinton, Ark.; Linda Pearson of Interlaken; Robin of Bridgewater, Vt.; and Jeffery of Chino Valley, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Church. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown., Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Bruce E. Nelson

Mr. Nelson, 62, of Old Bridge, died Aug. 24, 2007, at Raritan Bay Hospital, Old Bridge Division. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he resided in Edison prior to relocating to Old Bridge. He was a carpenter at Union Local No. 1006, Millltown, retiring in 2000. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of Hercules Rod & Gun Club, Sayreville. He is survived by his wife, Jean Nelson of Spotswood; two sons, Richard R. Nelson and Christopher Nelson, both of Old Bridge; a daughter, Carolee Nelson of Spotswood; four brothers, Kenneth Nelson of Phoenix, Ariz.; Raymond Nelson Jr. of South Brunswick; Robert Nelson pf Pensacola, Fla.; and Richard Nelson of Aberdeen; a sister, Arlene Mingle of Franklin Park; and seven grandchildren. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Ann Marie DiPaolo Straniero

Mrs. Straniero, 81, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died Aug. 24, 2007, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Cliffwood, she was a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was a member of the Matawan Italian American Club, and St. Benedict's Seniors. She was predeceased by her husband, Antonio in in 1996. She is survived by three sons and two daughters in-law, Nicolino Straniero, and George and Denise Straniero, all of Cliffwood, and Anthony and Francine Straniero of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge; her former daughter-inlaw, Eleanor Straniero of Cliffwood; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church. Interment was at Holmdel Cemetery. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Arlene F. Crosbie Paxton

Miss Paxton, 60, of Hazlet, died Aug. 26, 20076, at home. Born in Dillonvale, Ohio, she resided in Hazlet the past 26 years. She was head of shipping at Bel Ray, Farmingdale, for 21 years. She is survived by her mother, Bernice Crosbie of Hazlet; four sisters, Delores Persiani of Dillonvale, Ohio; Patricia Elerick of Mount Pleasant, Ohio; JoAnna Farkas of Columbus, Ohio; and Mildred Burskey of Toronto, Ohio; a brother, Charles W. Paxton of Bannock, Ohio; a half-brother, Cliff Sligar of Wheeling, W. Va.; an aunt; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Aug. 30 from 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

Ana Maria Rivera

Mrs. Rivera, 79, of Freehold, died Aug. 13, 2007, at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills section of Pemberton. Born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, she had resided in New York City before moving to Freehold 22 years ago. Mrs. Rivera was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, and a member of the Ladies of Perpetual Help of St. Cecilia's Church, New York City. Surviving are her husband, Manuel Rivera; a son, Manuel Rivera Jr.; a daughter and son-inlaw, Sandra Rivera and Peter Myette; a brother, Sendo Roman; two sisters, Paquita Escalera and Juanita Santiago; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
