Fall FISH programs slated to begin Sept. 15

The New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium (NJMSC), Fort Hancock, Sandy Hook, will begin its fall Families Investigate Science Hands-on (FISH) program Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. with "On Sandy Shores."

The programs suitable for children in grades K-12 and families use Sandy Hook beaches and the bay as coastal classrooms and offer a variety of activities.

The remaining programs will be "Terrific Terrapins" Sept. 22 at 1:30 p.m., and Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.; "Salt Marsh Investigations" Sept. 23 at 11 a.m., and Oct. 7 at 1:30 p.m.; "Incredible Crustaceans" Sept. 29 at 11 a.m.; and "Lenape and the Jersey Shore" Sept. 29 at 1:30 p.m. Each program runs approximately two hours.

Cost is $7.50 for children and adults, and free for children younger than age 3. Families may participate in one or more of the programs, and preregistration is strongly suggested. To preregister or for more information, call (732) 872-1300, ext. 30, or visit njmsc.org.
