Middletown Township Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Road, and Gloria Rovder Healy will kick off the fall series of poetry readings and open mics Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.

Bob McKenty, baseball poet, will offer his own unique view of America's national sport, and other subjects. He will be joined by poet and retired electronic engineer John Larkin. McKenty's books include "Fair Game, Open Season on Baseball," and the chapbook, "Fallout From the Nuclear Family." Larkin has had poems published in several literary journals. A book signing and open mic will follow. Refreshments will be served.
