Edmund "Mondo" Talarico

Mr. Talarico, 83, of Red Bank, died Oct. 12, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Red Bank, he was a lifelong resident. He was a retired cobbler and owned Economy Shoe Repair, Red Bank, for 45 years. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps 385th Bombardment Group in England during World War II. He was an avid Mets fan, and enjoyed traveling both to Europe and the United States with his wife. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine Rovito Talarico; two sons and daughters in-law, Emile and Dorothy Talarico of Holmdel, and Vinnie and Mary Talarico of Brick; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft section of Middletown. Arrangements are by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
