IN THE ARTS

The Provincetown Fringe Festival in Asbury Park and The Black Box of Asbury Park present "Christmas with Capote" Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. The performance is a reading of two stories: "One Christmas" and "A Christmas Memory," directed by Marjorie Conn. Capote was born in New Orleans in 1924 and until he was 10 years old, lived with a family of distant and elderly cousins in a small town in rural Alabama. Both stories are autobiographic about those years, and especially of his relationship with one of the cousins, Miss Sook Faulk. Admission is $5 and includes complimentary refreshments and a Christmas and Hanukkah party, plus door prizes. The Provincetown Fringe Festival was located in Provincetown, Mass., from 1994 to 2006. It has relocated to Asbury Park.
