'Tis the season in Middletown Township

MIDDLETOWN - The township's annual Christmas Tree lighting will be held Sunday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. at Middletown Town Hall, 1 Kings Highway. The festivities will include caroling and a visit from Santa. Parents are invited to bring cameras to take pictures of their children with Santa.

Another holiday tradition, the Middletown Holiday Train Ride, will take place Saturday, Dec. 8. Tickets may be purchased at the Parks and Recreation Office, 900 Leonardville Road.

Beginning this year, participants will be assigned a specific location on the train when tickets are purchased. Families who want to sit together are encouraged to register early and at the same

time.

Train rides will be offered at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Each

ride lasts about two

hours and features a

visit from Santa and

Mrs. Claus, carolers

and roving entertainment.

Each child over the age of 1 will receive a goody bag. The fee for anyone over the age of 1 is $10 per person. Under the age 1 is free; however a ticket is needed.

Call (732) 615-2260 for more information on both events.
