First Lt. Nicole Beaumont was awarded her Air Force Pilot wings in a ceremony in mid October at Vance Air Force Base, Enid, Okla. Beaumont completed her Joint Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training, and is now assigned to fly the KC-10 Extender tanker aircraft based out of McGuire Air Force Base, Fort Dix, N.J. She will complete her survival, escape, resistance, and evasion training at Fairchild (Wash.) Air Force Base before reporting for duty at McGuire. Beaumont completed her undergraduate flying training at Whiting Field, Pensacola, Fla. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in behavioral science and leadership in 2005 at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. A graduate of Middletown High School South, she is the daughter of Eileen and Leland Beaumont of Middletown.

Army Spec. Michael Bennet has been awarded the coveted Expert Infantry Badge at Fort Polk, Leesville, La. The badge is awarded to U.S. Army soldiers that possess infantry or Special Forces military career specialties. The son of James Bennet, Middletown, Bennet is a team leader assigned to the 2nd Infantry Regiment, Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas.

Army Sgt. Michael A. Hrehowsik has returned to the U.S. after a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Hrehowsik, an infantry fire team leader, is assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry at Fort Drum, Watertown, N.Y. He joined the Army in 2002 and has served a tour of duty in South Korea prior to redeployment to Fort Drum from Afghanistan. A 2001 graduate of Middletown High School, he is the son of Allen and Teri Hrehowsik of Middletown.

Evan B. Hatter has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force after completing the Air Force ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) program and graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. He will be assigned to the 562nd Flying Training Squadron, Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. A 2003 graduate of Paramus High School, he is the son of Wayne E. Hatter of Middletown, and Barbara J. Sousa of Paramus.
