'Mirror Images'
Saturday, Dec. 8, 4-6 p.m Hill, Keyport, is exhibiting new acrylic work enhanced by reflective surfaces that intensify the transparent colors or add an unexpected dimension to the image. Her use of mirrors and reflective surfaces creates the effect of light bouncing through color. The backpainting techniques she uses were developed during 25 years as a zoological illustrator. Hill has exhibited at the Art Alliance, the 2007 Brookdale College Alumni Show, and has been a participant in small-group and other shows at the Mitchell Sanborn Gallery. Antholis, Middletown, is an avid digital photography hobbyist. He works in digital photography, pastel and oil painting, with a focus on landscapes, seascapes, architecture, flowers and wildlife.
During a career in banking and finance, Antholis explored his interest in the arts through travel and photography. Through studies at Brookdale and the Guild of Creative Art, he has finetuned his artistic talent and explored different mediums. He is a member of the Guild of Creative Art, Monmouth Camera Club and the Monmouth County Arts Council and has exhibited locally at galleries and libraries. Hours at the cultural center are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call the center at (732) 229-4527. |
