John Deren Sr.

Mr. Deren, 90, of Sayreville, died Dec. 4, 2007, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Sayreville, he was a lifelong resident. He was a retired maintenance supervisor at Hercules Inc., Parlin, where he was employed 40 years, and a member of the Hercules 10- and 25-Year Clubs. He served as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church, Sayreville. He was a member of Sayreville Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 4699. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Sosnowski Deren in 1981; two brothers, Stanley and Edward Deren; and a sister, Josephine Parciak. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Connie Deren Jr. of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; and two nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial was at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville.
