      Bayshore Community Hospital, 727 N. Beers St., Holmdel, will host the free educational workshop, "Frankly Speaking about Cancer Treatment," March 27 from 5:30-8 p.m. Co-sponsors are The Wellness Community, Eatontown, and The Leukemia Lymphoma Society. A panel of experts will discuss how to take control of side effects such as fatigue, anemia, infection, appetite changes and pain as well as how to manage emotional distress. Dinner will be provided.       Rebecca's Reel Quilters Guild has announced that quilt appliqué teacher Nancy Kerns will be the featured speaker at the meeting on April 6 at 2 p.m. at Poricy Park Conservancy's Nature Center, Oak Hill Road, Middletown.       Aberdeen Township Recreation Department has scheduled a trip for seniors to see "Kiss Me Kate- A Cole Porter Musical" at Paper Mill Playhouse, Millburn. The trip will be May 14, and deadline to register is April 1. Cost is $61 for nonresidents, and $56 for residents for transportation and show. Buses depart at 11 a.m. from the parking lot at A&P, Route 35, Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, and 11:30 a.m. at Temple Shalom, Ayrmont Lane and Church Street,Aberdeen.       St. Clement Church, Route 79, Matawan, will host a "Welcome Spring" songfest April 12 at 7:30 p.m. Featured will be choirs from the Roman Catholic parishes of St. Benedict, Holmdel; St. Clement; St. Joseph, Keyport; and St. ThomasMore,Manalapan. The choirs will perform individually, then join together during the last half of the program. There is no charge, but donations will be welcome to benefit Clement House for families in crisis.       Rockin' Music Academy, Middletown, has announced the finalists in its "Rockin' Music Idol" contest, with the finale May 18 at the academy. Finalists in guitar were Carson Greengrove, Rumson; Bobby Hayek and Steven Schneider, both Holmdel; Matt Douglas, Middletown; and Shane Hughes, Lincroft section ofMiddletown. Bass finalists were Chris Duley, Hazlet, and Jon Cook, Lincroft. Anthony Flora and Andrea Morgan, Middletown, and Jordan Bowen of Hazlet, were finalists in the drum category. Vocal finalists were Samantha Ust, Middletown; Joe Diana, Belford section of Middletown; Kara Mowery, Red Bank; and Matt Mengers and Krutika Parasar, both Holmdel.
