OEM coordinator extends thanks to his supporters
As the end of 2007 nears, so does the end of my three-year appointment as the coordinator of the Office of Emergency Management for the Borough of Keyport. I would like to take this time to thank those that supported this office during the three years, as I will not be seeking reappointment to a second threeyear term.

I would like to personally thank James Lawson, the deputy coordinator for our community, for his dedication and commitment to this community in his schooling, training and volunteering as deputy coordinator.

During my three-year term, the emergency operations plan for the borough of Keyport had to be updated at all 18 annexes. I would like to thank those members of the police department, public works, fire department, and first aid squad, volunteer CERT members, Fire Marshal Vecchio, all borough hall employees and Fragrance Resources Inc. for their assistance, support and dedication.

Thank you to Keyport Schools Superintendent Dr. C. Dan Blachford, the faculty and staff for all their hard work and commitment to the students, in changing and updating the school's safety and security programs and all the testing and drilling.

During my three-year term, I have had the distinct pleasure of schooling, training and drilling alongside the members of the New Jersey State Police Office of Emergency Management, the Monmouth County Office of EmergencyManagement, Monmouth County Health Department, theAmerican Red Cross, and coordinators from throughout the state of New Jersey andMonmouth County. I was able to work closely with the coordinators and staff representing the EmergencyManagement offices within the Bayshore area. Thank you for all of your assistance and continued friendship. The people that coordinate and staff these offices are truly dedicated professionals and in a class by themselves. It is a great feeling knowing that in this day and age, if an incident were to happen along the Jersey Shore and in the Bayshore area, that your offices are well educated, trained, prepared and ready to go. The people within the community are going to be safe and well taken care of.

In closing, I shall be looking forward to spending more time with family, friends and the future of retirement.

If anyone within the community should need any OEM assistance, please contact the borough administrator at (732) 739- 5122.

Ken Marr Jr.
