No progress on blighted old railroad station
During October 2005, while campaigning for mayor, Mary Aufseeser knocked on our door and asked of our concerns as residents of Matawan. No. 1 on our list was (and still is) the deplorable condition of the old railroad station and the area surrounding it.

Aufseeser agreed, and told us that the lack of action to clean up the area and to gain an attractive tax ratable was due to the inability of the Democratic-controlled Aberdeen government and the Republican controlled Matawan government to work together to solve the problem. She pledged that with the Democrats in control ofMatawan, this long-awaited project would move forward.

Time has moved forward, but alas, not the train station project. For over two years, no attempts have been made to improve the appearance of blight one sees upon entering our town by train. No attempts to get on the "same page" as fellow Democrats in Aberdeen. No effort to follow aMain Street improvement plan commissioned by town government that strongly backed a rail station project. (The plan that was "lost" and that Mayor Aufseeser deemed not to be important).

Matawan needs the experience, sophistication, and dedication of Paul Buccellato as our next mayor. Vote for Paul!
