Holmdel defeated the Lions, 58-34 behind 14 points fromAlex Diekmann and eight apiece from Stephanie DeSousa and Kim Fiorentino as they built a 12-point halftime lead. Shannon Norton led the way for Middletown North with a game-high 19 points. The Hornets next faced the top seed, Cardinal McCarrick High School, whom they lost to, 60-53, after attaining a 29-23 advantage, only to watch it slip away in the third quarter. Once again, Diekmann led the way, this time posting 16 points, with Fiorentino scoring 13.
