Anthony M. Maresca

Mr.Maresca, 73, ofWilliston, Fla., died Jan. 6, 2008, inWilliston. He resided in Middletown prior to relocating to Williston five years ago. He was a retired Chief Combustibles Inspector for the Township of Middletown. Prior to that, he was Battalion Chief with Newark Fire Department for 27 years. He served with the U.S. Navy. He was a former president, coach and cofounder of Middletown Athletic Club, coached more than 35 years, and was recognized with Tony Maresca Day by Middletown Township. He was also a commissioner for Jersey Shore PopWarner for several years. He is survived by a brother, Albert J. Maresca of Middletown; a sister, Marie L. Piccini of Bronson, Fla.; two daughters, Annmarie Van Lenten of Williston, Fla., and Michelle L. Biggin of Morriston, Fla.; a son, Albert A. Maresca of Williston; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section ofMiddletown. Burial was atMount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
