George J. Melyan Jr.

Mr. Melyan, 79, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died Dec. 25, 2007, at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, he had lived there before moving to Cliffwood 33 years ago. He was a truck mechanic for Hostess Cakes, Woodbridge, for 35 years, before retiring in 1990. He served in the U.S. Army during the KoreanWar. He was predeceased by a brother, BobbyMelyan. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Teresa Melyan; three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Debra Melyan, Howell, Gary and Penny Melyan, Muncie, Ind., Jim and Kim Melyan, Beachwood; five sisters, Helen Melyan, Jersey City, Betty Loher, Parsippany, June Glesser, Tuckerton, Barbara Evens, Woodbridge; Linda Gallo, Fla.; three brothers, John Melyan, Totowa, Ronald Melyan, Fla., William Melyan, Bayville; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson. A funeral service was held at Day Funeral Home, Keyport, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery,Arnytown section of North Hanover.
