Oliver A. Marcelli

Mr. Marcelli, 83, of West Long Branch, died Feb.7, 2008, at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He resided in Little Silver, and Naples, Fla., prior to relocating to West Long Branch five years ago. He served with the U.S. Army Rangers during World War II, and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph A. Marcelli in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 445 years, Anne; a son, Frank Palaia of Bayville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Melanne and Peter Cottell of Eatontown, and Patricia Toscano of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Marcelli of Middletown; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
