Borough receives top safety award MATAWAN - The borough has been awarded the top safety award by theMonmouth County Joint Insurance Fund, for the third consecutive year. Borough Administrator Fred Carr, credited Safety Coordinator Grace Rainforth as well as the other employees of the borough for the award. In recognition of their efforts, a $1,000 reduction in the insurance premium was achieved and a luncheon for borough employees and a plaque were given to the borough. The Joint Insurance Fund is a self- insured workers compensation fund that strives to ensure that municipalities maintain a safe and accident-free work environment.
