MIDDLETOWN - Littletown Day on March 12 was a special day at Oak Hill Academy in Lincroft.

On this day, regular classes are suspended in favor of enactment of small town life, right in the hallways of the academy. Students in kindergarten through fourth grade took on various community roles.

This year Littletown Day had a Japanese flair carried out in a variety of locations.

Students started at the Buddha Bank where their "tiny bucks" could be withdrawn.

For recreation, they traveled down to watch videos at the Kabuki Theater or hit some balls at the Geisha Golf Course.

Other stops could be made at the Gold Pavilion Post Office, where students could pick up a copy of the Littletown Press, or buy a snack at Origami Pretzels.

They could also listen to music at the Japanese Hang Out while snacking on some goodies at the Kyoto Café.

Adventurous students were able to test their strength at the Samurai Fitness Center, while others may have preferred to hang out at the Mount Fuji Mall or treat themselves to a makeover at the Ninja Nail Salon for the special day.
