Swimming River Road closed for utility work
As ofMarch 10, sections of Swimming River Road in Middletown and Route 520 in Marlboro have been closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, asNew JerseyNatural Gas (NJNG) is installing 20-inch transmission mains.

Swimming River Road will be closed between Route 537 and Newman Springs Road, and Route 520 in Marlboro will also be closed, between Route 34 and Boundary Road.

All local traffic and emergency vehicles will be able to use both roads during the closure.

NJNG announced that it will be replacing a section of pipeline on Newman Springs Road on Swimming River Road between Oak Street and Majestic South in Lincroft and another section between CloverHill Lane and OrchardHills Road in Marlboro.

The projects are expected to be completed by mid-May.

Traffic will be detoured from these roads between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. during the construction. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

The pipeline being replaced provides natural gas for distribution to customers throughoutMonmouth and Ocean counties. Service will not be impacted as a result of the work being done.

The replacement project is part of NJNG's ongoing maintenance program to ensure the reliability of its pipeline infrastructure. Formore information, visit njliving. com.
