That Hot Dog Place ... have soup, will travel
 | | Gary Sable |
| RED BANK - If your recurring weekend fantasy is that Gary Sable will show up at your door with a steaming bowl of his homemade soup just in time for lunch, your dream has come true.
Red Bank's lunchtime guru is taking That Hot Dog Place on the road and is providing home delivery of the wildly popular homemade soups that draw long lines of customers to his aromatic little shop in the Victorian Courtyard on Monmouth Street.
Beginning last month, Sable began offering delivery of soups by the quart - on Saturdays only- to homes and businesses in greater Red Bank and the Bayshore.
The ThatHot Dog Place van will deliver as far south as Little Silver and Shrewsbury, east to the Atlantic, north as far as Keyport and as far west as Holmdel. Deliveries are made between noon and 3 p.m.
"People are asking for it," explained Sable about Saturday delivery, for which his daughter does the driving while he mans the soup pot. Plus, delivery is a way to offset a slowdown in business as the economy whittles the lunchtime crowd.
For $8 per quart, customers will be able to savor their weekday favorites like Sable's signature Spicy Sausage or Italian wedding soups - plus they'll still get the prized small package of crackers that come with soup orders.
Soups available will be posted in the Red Bank shop and on the Web site, www. soupmeister.com, and orders for delivery- minimum of two quarts- will be accepted up to 6 p.m. Friday. Orders can be placed in person at the 30 Monmouth St. shop, by email to soupmeister52@yahoo.com or by phone at (732) 219-6984.
