Alliance sponsors BOE candidates night The Holmdel Democratic Alliance for Good Government will host the current candidates for Holmdel's Board of Education at their next meeting, Friday, April 4, 7:30 p.m. at the Holmdel Community Center. The forum is open to the community. Candidates Michael L. Collins, incumbent Barbara Garrity, Jim Shelton and John B. Scagnelli have been invited to participate in an informal moderated discussion detailing their experience and positions. The four candidates are in contention for three, three-year seats on the school board. Incumbents Karen Strickland and Phyllis Pascucci are not seeking re-election. The Holmdel Democratic Alliance works to promote good government for Holmdel by encouraging citizen involvement in the political process, developing community leaders, and electing officials who are responsive to the needs of the community.
