Where on Earth are we going?

MIDDLETOWN - The Poricy Park Conservancy announced that the symposium "Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream" will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Poricy Park, 345 OakHill Road.

Where on Earth are we going? And what can we do about it? These are two of the questions that are at the heart of the symposium.

The symposium is being billed as a profound inquiry into a bold vision: to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on Earth. The symposium will provide the opportunity to explore what this vision means personally, and the opportunity to create an inspiring future.

Using video clips from some of the world'smost respected thinkers, along with inspiring short films, leading-edge information and group interactions, the symposium should allow participants to gain a new insight into the very nature of our time, and the opportunity we have to shape and impact the direction of our world with our everyday choices and actions, according to the symposium's organizers.

Cost is $5 high school and college students and seniors, and $10 for all others.

The symposium is being held in partnership with The Pachamama Alliance.
