United Way taps Hearne as CEO

WALL TOWNSHIP- The United Way of Monmouth County board of directors has named Timothy C. Hearne Jr. chief executive officer and president of the multimillion dollar nonprofit organization.

Hearne, a resident of Holmdel, brings to the position over 27 years of experience in finance and administration on a senior executive level.

As CEO/president of the United Way of Monmouth County, Hearne will be responsible for the overall management of the organization and the implementation of the agency's mission and vision.

According to a press release from United Way, Hearne will maximize the development of financial and human resources and provide professional leadership and guidance to staff and volunteers. He is to implement a campaign strategy including an effective marketing program with measurable community outcomes.

"We are thrilled to have a professional of Tim's caliber and experience lead the United Way here inMonmouth County. He brings a tremendous wealth of knowledge to the position froma business standpoint," said Webster Trammell, chairman of the United Way board of directors.

Hearne is currently president of the Brookdale Community College Foundation and has served as chairman of the Jersey Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross. He also served on the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee for CentraState Healthcare System and is a former board member of the N.J. Utility Association.

Hearne joined N.J. Natural Gas Co. in 1985 and spent 21 years with the company, attaining the position of senior vice president and treasurer. He was in charge of all internal and external financial reports for N.J. Resources Corp., the parent company of N.J. Natural Gas (NJNG).

Hearne represented the company before the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and the New Jersey Infrastructure Advisory Committee on security-related matters. A certified public accountant, he was also responsible for all short- and long-term financing of N.J. Natural Gas Co.

During his tenure with NJNG he was also responsible for governmental affairs, human resources and regulatory affairs.
