Earth Day cleanup slated for Saturday at Poricy Park
MIDDLETOWN -- Poricy Park Conservancy will host the second annual Earth Day Cleanup and Celebration organized by N.J. Community Water Watch on Saturday, April 19.
Participants are invited to join theMonmouth and Brookdale chapters ofN.J. Community Water Watch, the Middletown and Red Bank Environmental Commissions, Middletown Mayor Gerald Scharfenberger and Monmouth County freeholders on Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Participants will help remove cans, bottles, plastics, tires and more from historical and recent dumping sites along PoricyBrook and the Navesink and Swimming rivers.
The cleanup will be followed by a free community barbecue and livemusic to celebrate Earth Day.
It's recommended that participantswear sunscreen, work or garden gloves, hardsoled shoes and clothes that can get muddy because this event is rain or shine.
