Keansburg man hospitalized after Holmdel crash

HOLMDEL - A Keansburg man was hospitalized after his car collided with another car on Middletown Road on Sunday.
James Karusotto, 20, of Sea Breeze Way in Keansburg, was taken to Riverview Medical Center after his 1996 Saturn spun out of control on the wet road as he was traveling southbound on Middletown Road around 10 a.m. Sunday, April 27.
Karusotto's vehicle collided with a 1993 HondaAccord, driven by JosephMusa, 49, of Kings Highway, Middletown. According to police,Musa was driving northbound on Middletown Road when Karusotto's vehicle tried to negotiate the curve but crossed the centerline and hit Musa head-on.
Musa refused medical treatment.
"What saved James was that he was wearing his seat belt," said Holmdel Police Detective Lou Torres.
Holmdel First Aid and Holmdel Fire Station No. 1 responded to the crash site. The road was closed for approximately one hour Sunday morning, police said.
Patrolman Charles Groder of the Holmdel Township Police Department is investigating the crash.
