We've been there
Familiar places and local landmarks arewaiting to be revisited in an art exhibit of watercolor paintings by local artist Linné Grant. "Places We All Have Been" will run through May 10 at the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center at 128 Ocean Ave.

A reception with the artist will be held on Saturday from 6-8 p.m.; all are welcome.

The collection features notable Monmouth County landmarks including the Stony Pony in Asbury Park, the Highlands Drawbridge, the familiar Middletown Clown on Route 35 and the Dixie-Lee Bakery in Keansburg and many others.

The winsome paintings capture the feeling of the county's local treasures.

Grant notes, "Everyone has visited or stumbled upon each of the places I have painted, and most have a special story to share."

The artwork has taken on additional nostalgia since some of her subjects are about to be, or have already been, lost to redevelopment.

The exhibit runs through May 10 at the cultural center, located at 128 Ocean Ave.

Hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call (732) 977-5900 or e-mail linne@monmouthcountyartist.com.
