Historic district corner a serious safety hazard
In reading the article about the traffic light at the corner of Church Street and Kings Highway in the historical district, my reaction was "Here we go again!"

The corner is a serious safety hazard, and a traffic light is long overdue. Every time the issue comes up, the residents rise up to argue that the placement of a traffic light will somehow diminish the historical district. This fuzzy logic is present in your article with quotes about removing parkway signs and platitudes about preserving the district but no cogent reason how a traffic signal will ruin the area.

The reality is that at most times of the day traffic on Church Street is either backed up to the train station or taking their life in their hands trying to make a turn. It is about time that a traffic light be installed there before someone is severely injured or worse.
