Mentors needed for kids affected by Sept. 11
RED BANK - Tuesday's Children, a nonprofit that provides mentors to children who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks, is seeking for volunteers in the Red Bank area.
According to the nonprofit, there are currently a few families in the area who want their children to have a mentor to be a positive role model in their children's lives.
The organization, which began in 2003, started as a program that helped families in the New York City area. In 2005, the group expanded to help children in other areas needing the same help.
The mentoring program matches children who lost a parent on 9/11 with adult role models in the community.
A
nyone interested in becoming a
mentor is asked to call Danielle Cooperhouse, mentoring coordinator of Tuesday's Children, at 212-319-3988. For more information, visit www.tuesdayschildren.org.
