'Art Two Ways' at boro hall
Artists Mary Ann Russo of Middletown and Cecilia Swatton of Red Bank will each exhibit a collection of work in a two-person show running through September at Little Silver Borough Hall, 480 Prospect Ave.

"9 Lives" by Cecilia Swatton
Titled "Art Two Ways," the exhibit illustrates how a photographer and a mixed-media artist inspire each other through viewing and depicting the world in two ways: representational and abstract.

Russo's hand-colored photographs take viewers from yesterday to today. Her work has a soft, vintage look and invites viewers to share her vision of the beautiful, the innocent and the exotic.

Her artwork has been published in Collage magazine, and she has exhibited widely in local venues, including the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury, Monmouth Museum in Lincroft, Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, No Ordinary Joe's in Red Bank, and BrookdaleCommunityCollege in Lincroft.

Swatton is an independent designer of art rubber stamps. Her artwork has been published in magazines including the electronic magazine DigitalArts. Her work has been displayed locally at No Ordinary Joe's, the Monmouth Festival of the Arts at Reform Temple in Tinton Falls, and the Guild of Creative Art.
