Student raises $22,000 for 2nd Floor helpline
      Sophia Ganguzza, a student at Manasquan High School, organized an Oct. 12 benefit that raised $28,094, of which $22,000 will directly benefit 2nd Floor, a confidential and anonymous youth helpline available for children statewide. The helpline is part of 180 Turning Lives Around, Hazlet.

Safety awareness program begins Oct. 27
      Hazlet Township Police Department in conjunction with Amato's Karate Academy will host a safety awareness and rape prevention program for women age 16 and older beginning 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at Cullen Center, 1776 Union Ave. The two-hour sessions will be held Mondays until Dec. 1.
