Red Cross says thanks for volunteer contributions
As the CEO for the American Red Cross Jersey Coast Chapter, I have the opportunity to witness the strength of the human spirit each day. As we prepare to celebrate the Thanksgiving season, the American Red Cross would like to say thank you to everyone whose contribution of time, money or blood has helped us help others in their time of need.

I see it in the actions of the numerous volunteers who work alongside American Red Cross employees when we need their help the most. I see it in the faces of employees who put in countless hours when a disaster strikes. I see it in the face of victims of disaster when a Red Cross worker lends them a helping hand. I see it in the dedication of health and safety instructors teaching infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to new parents. I hear it in the voices of concerned donors who call to give the gift of money or come in to donate lifesaving blood.

This past year, the Jersey Coast Chapter has assisted 341 families who were personally affected by a disaster. We have also taught lifesaving skills such as CPR, first aid and life-guarding to 84,472 individuals. This would not have been possible without the contributions of thousands of Americans who've helped the Red Cross make a difference in communities all across the nation. To each of you who've helped out your fellow Americans and our international neighbors through your contributions to the American Red Cross: thank you.
