Food pantry extends thanks to community

The Matawan Community Food Pantry would like to publicly thank Shore Rentals Inc. (Avis on Route 34, Aberdeen), and Temple Shalom- Reform in Aberdeen for helping our food pantry by donating a cargo van and a generous donation of food items. The food donation was collected during Yom Kippur services and the van was used to transport the food donation.

The number of people in need of food help is growing, and all donations to our food pantry are greatly appreciated. Once again, thank you.

The Food Pantry would also like to acknowledge the following groups for supporting our food pantry at Thanksgiving: Club 60, Cross of Glory Lutheran Church plus nursery school members, Cub Scout Pack 66, First Presbyterian Church members plus nursery school members, Lloyd Road student council and students, Scout Troop 92, ShopRite of Aberdeen, Temple Shalom in Aberdeen, and the staff at Victoria House Assisted Living in Matawan. All of the above groups have been loyal sponsors of our food pantry.

Our food pantry helps 40 area families a month, and the generosity from the Matawan/Aberdeen communities is really gratifying. Thank you all.
