Deweycheatumnhowe, the 2008 Hambletonian winner, has been selected as the New Jersey Standardbred of the Year for 2008 by the New Jersey Equine Advisory Board.

The 3-year-old trotting colt, sired in New Jersey by Muscles Yankee, won 22 of his 25 career starts with purse earnings in excess of $3.1 million of which more than $2.2 million was earned in '08. Deweycheatumnhowe won the Triple Crown races the Hambletonian and Kentucky Futurity as well as the World Trotting Derby and the Stanley Dancer Memorial. He won 17 consecutive races during his sophomore campaign.

13U travel baseball team playing in the Central Jersey area is seeking a pitcher born after April 30, 1995. Indoor winter training workouts will begin this month for spring travel baseball league, which will include tournaments. A few positions are still available as the team has a small roster of committed kids to maximize playing time for this competitive team.
