Public asked to keep cars off street in snow
      Middletown Township Chief of Police Robert Oches is asking residents to keep cars off all streets during snowstorms and bad weather to enable the township plows to clean streets properly, and safeguard children to and from school by giving residents an open road.

Lifeguards sought for Sandy Hook
      The National Park Service is seeking lifeguards for the summer season at Sandy Hook. Strong female and male swimmers are being encouraged to take a pre-employment test for the jobs, with hourly pay ranging from $13.19 to $22.73. Lifeguards work five eight-hour days each week.

Park System's snowshoe hikes Jan. 18, Feb. 8
      The Monmouth County Park System will host snowshoe hikes for residents age 10 and older (younger than age 18 with an adult) from noon to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at Huber Woods Park, Brown's Dock Road in Middletown, and Feb. 8 at Hartshorne Woods Park, Navesink Avenue, in Middletown.
