Developers are only ones winning in Middletown
So, the courts have cleared the way for the Azzolinas to build housing and stores on what they call town center. What a shame. There are already so many empty stores at the various malls around town, how can anyone think we need more? The traffic will be badly affected by more people in the houses or apartments. Many wildlife habitats will be destroyed. What most of us love about Middletown will soon be eroded by the greed of developers and inept and questionable decisions on the part of lawmakers.

The best buy is open space — quickly diminishing in our town — as is our quality of life. It will be a sad day for Middletown when the bulldozers arrive. We pay taxes and yet have no say when it comes to development. Doesn't seem fair or sensible. The old saw about how more people increase the tax rolls is just not true when you take into consideration the increased need for services. It is not a win/win situation by any stretch of the imagination. The only ones winning are the developers.
