Smith of the Diocese of Trenton. Transitional deacons are men who have completed the third year of seminary formation, and are ordained to serve as a minister of the Word, of the altar and of charity. They are expected to become a priest the following year or soon thereafter. Padilla Lopez will be vested by Monsignor Eugene Rebeck, pastor of St. Catharine's. ***** Holmdel Historical Society will present Bill Volpe, of the New Jersey Lighthouse Society, as guest speaker at its meeting, to be held 7 p.m. May 26 at the Holmdel Senior Community Center, Crawfords Corner Road. Camp I will be July 6-9, camp II July 13-16, and camp III July 27-30. All camps are 9 a.m.-noon at Hazlet Middle School. Participants must bring a basketball, and water bottle, and a physical is required (school physical accepted). Registration must be made by July 3 for camp I, July 10 for camp II, and by July 24 for camp III in order to avoid a $15 late fee. The event will feature music and poetry by local individuals, and coffee. Freewill donations will be accepted. Mission Matawan is a community outreach program that offers volunteers an opportunity to perform local hands-on ministering to the elderly, disabled and others in need. Volunteers may take part in this year's mission, June 20-26. Coffeehouse proceeds are used for supplies needed to paint, clean up and repair homes. The tour begins at Strauss Mansion Museum, 27 Prospect Circle, where tickets may be purchased at 9 a.m. Light refreshments will be served until 1 p.m. Ticket prices are $30 on the day of tour, and $25 if preordered.
