      The 11th annual Arc of Monmouth "Step Up for The Arc" walkathon will be held June 6 at Liberty Park II, West Park Ave, Tinton Falls, beginning at 9 a.m. All proceeds will benefit individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

      The ninth annual Ride for Autism Charity Bicycle Tour will be held locally June 13 at Brookdale Community College, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown. Times are 7 a.m. for 100-mile cyclists, and 8-9 a.m. for individuals cycling seven to 62 miles.

Matawan resident graduates Academy
      The Monmouth County Police Academy, Freehold, graduated 37 special police officers at its 34th Basic Course for Class II Special Police Officers in late May. Local resident Dorian V. Holmes was among the graduates. The class trained for 32 weeks in order to complete the class.
