Concert series in Normandy Park
      MIDDLETOWN — July 2 marked the kickoff of the Summer Concert Series with the 63rd Army Band. The series will be held at Normandy Park from 7 to 9 p.m. every other Thursday; concerts are free to the public. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Sandy Hook offers free parking on select dates
      Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area will take part in the nationwide Fee-Free Weekend on July 18 and 19 and Aug. 15 and 16. Sandy Hook will eliminate the $10-per-car parking fee on those dates; the park has no entrance fee but charges $10 per car for beach parking.
